My name is Alan Hardy owner operator of Hardyscapes LLC. I am born and raised in Powhatan where is live today. I am 26 years old and enjoy the outdoors and fishing. When I was a kid I loved doing yard work with my family. As I grew up I began doing yard work, mowing, and leaves for neighbors in our community which developed into my source of spending money during middle school and high school. Just like that my passion for landscaping was born and making great stripes in freshly cut grass. When I got to my senior year I knew I wanted to start and develop my own busines and began my journey and career as a business owner. The name Hardyscapes came from the name my dad used in his side hustle when my mom stayed home with me as a child. I filed the business name officially creating Hardyscapes LLC. Later that fall I began to explore opportunities to buy an existing business to add to the clients I already had developed. The purchase of a business was completed in April 2017 with the former owner staying on in transition until my graduation from Powhatan High School in June 2017. I received a letter from myself I wrote with my teacher in Middle school which she mailed the week of Graduation. The question we answered what was what we wanted to do after high school graduation?

“ I want to own  my own landscaping business.” was my answer. I was excited to see my dreams already in progress. At this point I serviced 32 clients properties. In the 3 seasons since then I have received my certification in Pesticide Applicator for turf and ornamental control. I have developed into a full-service lawn care company servicing over 65 properties in Powhatan, Midlothian, and Henrico. 

 

I feel what sets me apart from other lawn care business is the number of services I can offer to my customers and that I am small enough to be on site with my team and can control the high level of service provided for their property.
